Polar bear: point of reference - video and photgraphs
The town of Upernavik is very isolated on the north west coast of Greenland, only accessible by air, and by ships over the high summer. Society that is in this strange liminal place between their way of living and modernity, between living in harmony with nature, by their own sense and obeying rules, ideas, laws and regulations made thousand of miles away.
The experience of the stay there changed my view on so many levels, gave me new perspective on my own country and nation, colonialism, animal protection and regulations, global warming and so on.
(notice: the little girl in the Piglet outfit form Winnie the Pooh, she is the daughter of the hunter. Also turn up the volume, I find the sound important part of the video.)
